| I love Saturday mornings! Right now I am sitting in front of the computer in jogging pants and hoodie, eating a cinnamon bun and chocolate milk for breakfast, and it is already 9:30! It is a balmy -3 outside, so Jerry and I will probably go snowshoeing this afternoon. We bought them for eachother for Christmas, and to be perfectly honest, they are a lot more work than they look. Sometimes I think it would be easier just to walk with boots on, but what is the fun in that! I've also found out another reason why I like Alberta: we have Family Day. Yep, I get a day off work on Feb 19, which also happens to be Jerry's birthday. It is so smart to have a holiday in between Christmas break and spring break. | | |
| I just finished writing a really long post, and then my computer decided to preform and illegal operation! Here is goes again...
I just found out a disturbing fact. A quote that I have always loved, that the (evil) internet credited to Nelson Mandela (a very cool person) was not actual written by him at all! It was supposed to be found in his inaugral speech in 1994, but apparently that was a myth. Well, here it is, with the proper credit to Marianne Williamson, whoever you are!
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

| So here I am, returning to the world of Zangers after a year sabbatical. Let's just hope that this site too will not go the way of the dinosaur. (Sorry to you english students; I can't help the cliches!) I'm at my parents in BC right now, buy hopefully when I get home I will be able to put some pictures in. Jerry and I are having a great time here. Tonight we had a very belated Christmas dinner. It is fun to come back home as a tourist. We do and see things that we never did when we lived here. Yesterday we went and took a tour of Fort Langley. Lots of fun! We mined for gold, tried on period costumes and learned how to make wooden barrels. Tomorrow we go back to good old AB; a long long long drive. Now I will go and try to find more of you Xangites. TTFN. | | |
